Most of us realise the importance of oral hygiene but do not pay too much attention to it. All of us believe that we have good breath, and just brushing our teeth regularly is sufficient to keep our teeth and mouth healthy. But, really and truly, there is a lot more to oral hygiene than just brushing your teeth.
Good Brushing for Oral Hygiene
Brushing correctly and at least twice a day after meals is necessary for healthy dental hygiene. Brush longer, not harder, and brush over all your teeth. Do remember to replace your toothbrush every three months.
Flossing to remove plaque
Flossing is by far the best way to remove the plaque that is hidden in unreachable crevices of your teeth. Floss gently up and down and around your gum line for effective cleaning. Use a fresh floss portion for each tooth.
Mouthwash to remove bad breath
By far the most effective way of removing bad breath and making your mouth feel fresh. Mouthwashes make you feel fresh and tingly and take away all the bacteria and food residue from your mouth and it also prevents gum decay.
Good diet for oral health
Sugar and carbs are your teeth’s greatest enemies. Avoid them as far as possible, and above all have a nutritious diet. This will not only help your oral hygiene but will also make you feel physically healthy.
